New York Events and Things to Do All Year

The New York City museum of photography is hosting a solo show by famous photographer David LaChapelle. Entitled Make Believe, this exhibition will feature 150 of the artist’s photographs. Taking place from September 9 to January 9, the exhibition covers the artist’s forty-year career. His themes span the world of celebrity, religion, gender identity, and body image. His images are surreal and full of color.

Times Square Arts and Events

The Midnight Moment video series screens a three-minute video work on 90 electronic billboards throughout Times Square. The first work in the series is Wolf Light by Joan Jonas and includes the first of twelve works by women artists. The video series began in 1982 as part of the Public Art Fund’s “Messages to the Public” series.
